What does 'integrated livestock farming' mean?
This means that we have full control over the selection and maintenance of the cows and the feed they are given, as well as over every stage of the milk processing and packaging process. What are the advantages of Greenfields Milk?
Greenfields milk is actually fresh milk, nothing is added to it.
Are the cows at Greenfields farm given growth hormones?
No.
Are the cows at Greenfields farm given antibiotics?
If there are sick cows, they may have to be treated with antibiotics, just like humans. However, milk produced from cows that are currently on medication will not be used for production.
Why is the Greenfields Halal logo different from the usual Halal logo used in Singapore?
Our products receive Halal certification from LPPOM-MUI, which is an institution formed by the Indonesian Ulema Council. MUIS (Singapore Ulema Council) recognizes the halal certificate issued by LPPOM-MUI. Thus Greenfields products do not need to bear the Halal logo from Singapore anymore.
Why is there sugar in Greenfields Milk?
The sugar content in milk is something that is found naturally and not something added. The sugar comes from the feed given to our cows.
Is the “sugar” on the Nutritional Info Table the sugar added to milk?
No. Sugar on the nutrition table refers to lactose, which is a natural sugar or carbohydrate, which is contained in milk. Lactose provides additional energy for your daily activities.
If I buy milk and open it, then store the rest in the refrigerator for one week and the product has not reached its expiration date, can I still consume it?
We recommend consuming the milk within four days of opening the package.
Is fresh milk safe for consumption for children under two years old?
We recommend starting to give fresh milk to children aged two years and over. However, because the condition of each child is different, you should consult with your pediatrician to determine whether your son/daughter who is under two years old is allowed to start consuming pasteurized milk.
Can milk be heated before consumption?
We recommend that you warm the milk by placing the milk in a glass/bottle and then placing the glass/bottle into a bowl of hot water.
What does homogenization mean?
Homogenization is the process of breaking down fat globules to such a small size that they are suspended evenly in the milk and the fat does not separate and float to the surface.
What does pasteurization mean?
Pasteurization is the process of heating food, which is usually a liquid, to a certain temperature and for a certain period of time, and then cooling it immediately. This process kills bacteria and slows food spoilage that can arise due to microbial growth in food.
Does pasteurized milk always need to be stored cold?
Yes, pasteurized milk must be kept cold to maintain its freshness. The pasteurization process only kills pathogenic bacteria so storing it in cold temperatures will maintain the quality of the milk longer.
How to store UHT milk?
UHT milk must be stored at room temperature before opening and has a shelf life of nine months from the time it is produced. Once the packaging is opened, store the milk in the refrigerator and spend it within four days.
Why does UHT milk have a longer expiration date? Are there additives in UHT milk?
UHT milk is processed at high temperatures to kill microorganisms (bacteria) and packaged in multi-layer packaging to maintain the quality of the milk. There are no additives or preservatives in UHT milk.
Is Greenfields Milk suitable for consumption by those with lactose intolerance?
There are many levels of lactose intolerance/lactose intolerance. If you have any doubts about this, please consult a doctor or nutritionist.
Are Greenfields products safe for consumption for diabetics?
For people with diabetes and other chronic diseases, we recommend consulting a doctor to get information about optimal nutrition to consume.
What does permeate mean?
Permeate is the technical term for the lactose, water, vitamins, and mineral components of milk produced by a separation process called ultra-filtration.
Is permeate found in other brands of milk sold in Indonesia?
Milk brands from Australia and New Zealand that have been sold in Indonesia since late July 2012 do not carry the label 'permeate free' on their packaging. However, we cannot prove the content of other brands, but we can always confirm that Greenfields products do not contain permeate.
Is permeate dangerous for human consumption?
It is not known whether permeate is harmful for human consumption, but buying milk with permeate in it means you are not getting 100% of what you should be wanting – i.e. fresh milk.
